Whiplash Audio Loudspeakers
We have been working very closely with Whiplash Audio to develop a line of speakers suitable for nearfield listening. The first two products to come of out collarboration are the "Photon" and "Ion" (below) loudpseakers.
The Photon, is designed to be a part of a great desktop/computer based system and designed to work exceptionally well with T-Amps, especially the CryoParts/Pop Pulse Signature T-amp with which they were voiced. We will soon be offering a complete "desktop audio" system
based around these speakers, look for more details soon.
This speaker, while designed for near field (preferable desk top) listening, does also do well as the mains in small rooms.

- Two sand chambers in the bottom of each cabinet to further trap cabinet vibration

In order to keep the price low, no frills are offered with these speakers. No speaker cable, no fancy packaging and no owners manual will be offered, or shipped with the speakers. Our goal is to offer a simple, great perfroming set of speakers under $300, and we did, albeit with no frills.

These have a "warmer" tonal balance than the Photons above and may be a better match for those who either prefer a slightly more laid back sound, or those who listen to music from their computer that is not saved in a lossless format.

Whiplash Audio Plutos.
The Whiplash Audio 'Pluto' is a small speaker developed for desktop systems and bookshelf applications. Surprisingly effective in near field and far field applications with stunning imaging and clarity. It utilizes a non-uniform baffle design intended to defeat frequency coupling caused by baffle effect. The end result is a very smooth response and greatly improved imaging.
The Whiplash 1-1/2 way design principle: Whiplash Audio 1-1/2 way design principle takes into account that the human ear is most sensitive to the frequencies between 300 and 6,000 hz. In the Pluto design the woofer is nearly full range with a crossover point at 10khz allowing the majority of music information to be handled by a single driver. This principle reduces phase alignment problems and crossover distortion typically found in multi-driver systems. The result is a wide soundstage with very low distortion and no perceivable transition from the separate drivers.
